The archipelago

Blekinge offers you Sweden’s most southerly archipelago. This differs somewhat from the other Swedish archipelagos in its deciduous wooded rocky islands and the relatively short distance between the inner and the outer archipelago with its open sea.

The archipelago comprises innumerable charming sea bays and almost one thousand islands. Karlskrona can be described as being built on a series of coastal islands. The Karlshamn archipelago starts right outside the guest harbour. Ronneby connects up with the archipelago via the Ronneby river. Sölvesborg lies at the exact point where this island world is replaced by long sandy beaches. Olofström is the only municipality in Blekinge without a coastline and is proud of containing the largest lake, lake Halen, as a complement to the Blekinge archipelago.
