Roads
European highway 22, from Malmö to Stockholm, passes through the entire county. Moreover, there are several roads from the north through the Småland region. The Öresund Bridge gives Blekinge direct contact with Denmark and the Continent.

Air travel
Air travel is concentrated to Ronneby airport, which primarily offers flights to and from Stockholm. Expansion of service to the Baltic States is underway.

Railroads
The Kustbanan line – Karlskrona – Malmö/Copenhagen – provides direct rail service to Copenhagen over the Öresund Bridge. When electrification of the line is complete in a few years, travel times will be reduced to just over two hours between Karlskrona and Malmö/Copenhagen. Shipping and harbors
Karlskrona has daily ferry service to Poland, and freight and passenger ferries go from Karlshamn to Klaipeda i Lithuania. Service on the lines is rapidly expanding and travel between Blekinge and the countries on the other side of the Baltic is constantly improving. Sölvesborg, Karlshamn and Karlskrona have excellent commercial harbors. The port of Karlshamn, with its deepwater harbor, is among the country’s best and one of the seven largest.

Datacom and telecom
Thanks to the university’s orientation and its collaboration with businesses and municipalities, Blekinge has become one of the leading regions in the world when it comes to new information technology. This is apparent both in entrepreneurship and regional applications. The goal is that all of Blekinge will gain access to broadband, including private persons, businesses, schools and other users.
